The PRIA 2015 Annual Conference was held from August 24-27, 2015, at The Brown Hotel* in Louisville, KY.
More than 175 PRIA members, industry leaders and speakers took advantage of the opportunity to immerse themselves in the learning opportunities available at the Annual Conference and participate in discussions on XML standards, Land Records Management Systems Best Practices, sovereign citizens, race to record, TRID disclosure forms, and challenges and opportunities for the property records industry, to name a few.
The keynote address was delivered by Jeffrey Ritter and the topic was "Building Digital Trust-Conquering the 21st Century.”
Ritter explained that for centuries, public authorities have served as the trusted custodians of the records of society that matter. As technology renders paper obsolete, the role of the public custodian is also endangered. To fight back, and to enhance the public's trust for the 21st century, the industry must learn a new way of thinking about how to use technology to build and sustain digital trust in the records they maintain and how to make the successful business case for the required investments to do so.
There were two breakout session time slots for committees and work groups to review current projects and solicit feedback from participants, along with two concurrent sessions and multiple general sessions.
PowerPoint presentations from the Annual Conference are available to all PRIA members in-good-standing and are posted to the members-only side of the website (log-in required). Note: not all speakers release their materials to PRIA for redistribution and not all programs utilized PowerPoint presentations.
